Universal Bathroom Design
Universal design is an approach to design that works to ensure products and buildings can be used by virtually everyone, regardless of their level of ability or disability. The term “universal design” was coined by the late Ronald L. Mace, a fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
Universal Design is design for inclusivity and independence. A universal design approach recognises human diversity and designs for life scenarios such as pregnancy, childhood, injury, disability and old age. No matter how beautiful, your home will not be comfortable or appealing if you cannot move freely through its rooms and independently perform the basic tasks of life. Even if everyone in the family is able-bodied, a sudden accident or the long-term effects of illness can create mobility problems, visual and auditory impairments, or cognitive decline.
